Recurring Players

Writers and favorite players frequently returned to reprise roles.

Dick Blasucci - Writer Dick Blasucci made frequent appearances as minor characters on the show, and had one recurring character, Chuck, who happened to be a dead ringer for Wayne Cochran. Blasucci was also a member of the Wally Hung Trio.

Juul Haalmeyer - SCTV's wardrobe artist, Juul also led the Juul Haalmeyer Dancers, non union dancers most often seen in Lola Heatherton's blockbuster specials. The dancers included at various times Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis and writers David Flaherty, Dick Blasucci, Doug Steckler, Bob Dolman, Chris Cluess (among others).

John McAndrew - another writer who made frequent appearances on the show, and as lead in the odd sketch.

Paul Flaherty - Joe's brother Paul was another writer on the show, and appeared as Count Floyd's sidekick The Pittsburg Midget. Paul was also a member of the Wally Hung Trio.

Mike Short - Martin's brother Mike, another writer, was a regular in the final series, appearing as Mike the Bartender on Happy Hour.

Jayne Eastwood - In addition to reprising her role in Goin' Down the Road for Garth, Gord, Fiona and Alice, Eastwood appeared in sketches throughout, in parts such as Greta Kubler Cooke, moderator for Philosophers at Work, and Madelaine in The Long Hard War. Eastwood was also a member of the first Second City Toronto cast in 73, and now appears with Women Fully Clothed along with Robin Duke.

Ron James - A Second City cast member, James appeared frequently in series 5 and 6 in supporting roles.

Kathy Laskey - Another Second City cast member, Laskey appeared in supporting roles in series 5 and 6.

Donald Cowper - Used for any sketch requiring adolescents in series 1.
